Legion News

May all go well with Britain still go well

Keep her bright banners free from spot or stain

Lest we should dream that we may die in vain

Legion Facts

The Legion was founded in 1921

Some 10.5 million people in the UK are eligible to ask for help

The Legion is the UK's largest membership orgabisation, with over 450,000 members. Anyone can be a member ex-Service or not

A person does not have to be a Legion member to receive assistance - but they must be an ex-Serviceperson or a dependant. Anyone who has been in the British Armed Forces for seven days or more (and their dependants) is eligible for help

Two proposals have been decided

on by the Committee:-

1) Information to be gathered from the

War Memorial and records to enable us

to write a Book of Remembrance, which

will be enclosed inside a glass lidded

cabinet enabling everyone to read the

daily names.

2) A book of recollections from Military

life wether in conflict or not, even civilian

thoughts will be most welcome. Once

collected hopefully these will be printed

into a book and then published

Any help, contributions please e mail

me at LoughtonRBL@yahoo.co.uk or

leave a message at the Branch
